3 new dog breeds are recognized by the AKC.

Entlebucher

It’s hard to get a breed recognized by the American Kennel Club, but 3 breeds have recently succeeded in this task! The new breeds recognized are the Entlebucher Mountain Dog, the Norwegian Lundehund, and the Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless). You can read more about this story in The Globe and Mail.

  1. ChiChi says:

The AKC was originally meant to enhance, support breed quality, continuity of conformation etc. Also, with selective breeding, known genetic breed diseases would be either diminshed or eradicated.Over the years,AKC has evolved into an egregious money hungry pit of a corporation. They encourage the puppy mill breeders(one of their major sources of income) and,as long as you pay, register sick, congentically defective animals.Sad disgust of what AKC really is. The papers are tantamount to expensive pee pads.
