Purina fish and horse food recall

veterinary news

It’s not often that I write about fish or horses, but Purina has just announced a recall on several brands of fish food and some horse food as well.  The problem with the food isPurina game fish chow. that there is potentially too high a level of vitamin D.  High vitamin D levels can cause weight loss, lack of appetite, joint stiffness (horses) and even death.

Added: The recall has now been expanded to include many other Purina foods as well.  More information here.
