Cat is burnt on belly.

Species: Cat
Breed: Mixed
Age: 5-8 years
My cat seems to have a burnt patch on her belly. I don't know if this is from over-licking or if she actually got burnt. Is there anything I can do to prevent infection and help it heal well?

This is a tough question to answer without seeing your cat, but I am wondering if she has something called an eosinophilic plaque. These can happen anywhere on a cat's body but I have seen quite severe ones on a cat's belly.

Most eosinophilic plaques need to be treated with a steroid injection (or sometimes more than one) given by your vet.

If this is indeed a burn (which is not very likely) then she really should see the vet for antibiotics as burns can very easily get nasty infections.

I wish I could advise you on what you could do at home but this sounds like a case where a vet visit is necessary.
